At home, the icebreaker makes the spring
The icebreaker CCGS Vincent Massey was at work on the Fjord de la Baie, a sign that spring has officially arrived!
The traditional spring de-icing of the Saguenay Fjord helps prevent ice jams and flooding that can result from spring thaw. The design of these ships allows them to break the ice by creating waves.
A beautiful show
Icebreaking operations on the Saguenay River have freed the Fjord from its ice. Our team and our clients had a front row seat to admire the magnificent work of the crew of the Canadian Coast Guard vessel led by Captain Michel Dufresne.
